Someone commented that I must have moved Noah to his own crib in his room because I used the word crib in my post. I was actually referring to the Pack N Play he sleeps in now which is right next to our bed…I was just being lazy and calling it a crib. But, that comment got me thinking. So, I am posing a question to all of you Mommies out there:
When did you move your little one to his/her/their crib in his/her/their own room? How did you make the move? Did you do it cold turkey one night or start out by taking naps in the crib? Noah has never even been in his crib once. He takes naps in his PNP or on mommy. I’m scared of waiting too long because I am afraid that the longer I wait the more “aware” he will be that something is changing and the more difficulty he will have adjusting. My MIL said she kept Shawn in her room until he was over a year old. Do I wait until he STTN every night? He STTN about ½ of the time right now. Any advise would be appreciated!

We put the kids in their cribs on the first night. It got them used to the fact that "this is where you sleep." I would start it out for naps and see how it goes. So cute though!!! I could see why you don't him him too far from you!
ReplyDeleteHey!! Well, we moved the girls when they were around 6-8 weeks old. I can't remember exactly, that time in my life is just a blur. :-) Anyway, it was cold turkey. They were so little I don't think they cared at all. I agree with Rebecca - trying it at naps would probably be good. Or, if you think you have it in you, just give it a try one night. He just may surprise you. (I've often found that true with my girls!!) So good to see you back blogging!
ReplyDeleteCarter's 1st night in his crib was Christmas Eve...so he was almost 2 months. We went cold turkey from the PNP. He loved it.
ReplyDeleteI did it at 2 months just pretty much cold turkey. I think we both sleep better that way and once we started doing it she slept through the night a lot quicker.
